First for this lesson I would show this quick video on map making, and symbols. After showing the video I would have an open discussion with my students about map making and different types of maps we could make. I would explain that on our next ĆLEį¹ENEČ» we would be getting into groups of three to map an area where we were going, but first we need to practice our mapping skills. I would then show my sketch note map I made of my back yard, mapping my plants.
I would explain my map, and my symbols I made for my legend. I would then have students get into groups of three to brainstorm symbols they could use while we are out on the land, we would then have a class discussion sharing their ideas.
Evaluation: I would collect the students notes, and practice papers and once we went on the land and made our actual maps those would be what I used to evaluate their learning.
