I really enjoyed Joanna’s presentation. I enjoyed her energy, and what she had to share about technology. I think technology can be a great tool in the classroom, for all ages. I like how she mentioned using it with a student to help them be more engaged in the tutorial lesson she was teaching. I also liked how she shared about the importance of making connections with your students, this is something I feel strongly about.
I love sketch-noting, and being creative to help me inform my learning, and I think that it will play a role in my teaching as well. I think that it will help learners process what is being taught, and remember what is being said. They can make the notes using pictures that help them in their learning, and it gives them the choice in what they think is important. Something I think could be a con is that some students may use the opportunity to draw or doodle but it won’t be relevant to what is being taught.
